The building itself can hardly be missed with it’s reddish coloured walls and Moorish arches and white dome. The castle is surrounded by graceful palms and well-tended tropical gardens Exquisitely decorated inside with tiles and carvings reminiscent of the purest Nasrite style of the Alhambra in Granada.

Paloma Park

Situated between Benalmadena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel La Paloma the park covers around 200,000 sqm in the centre of Benalmádena Costa. It's just 200 to 300 metres from the main road and beaches, but at the same time it's very relaxing and fairly quiet. Many of the local people visit the park on Sundays and have picnics there. There is a large lake with a high jet of water in the park, which gives a refreshing feel to the atmosphere during hot days.

Colomares Castle (Gardens of Eagles)

On the outskirts of Benalmadena is Colomares Castle and the Jardine de Las Aquilas (Garden of Eagles) where visitors have the opportunity to observe numerous types of birds of prey in free flight and find out more of the ancient art of Falconry. The Castle itself is an amazing site in it’s own right, profusely decorated, and built in a variety of architectural styles that suggest the builder or designer was not quite clear what he originally wanted to achieve.

Buddhist Temple

The Benalmádena stupa was designed to be the largest Buddhist stupa in the western world. The story behind the stupa goes back to 1990 when a Buddhist master came to Spain to give talks to the faithful in Vélez-Málaga. In Vélez, there is a Buddhist meditation centre. Four years later, Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche decided to return to Spain and build a stupa in Vélez Málaga, where he had given his talks. His idea was to give the area a monument that would symbolize peace and prosperity for Spain.
